I'll be moving soon, and nearly all of my camera and darkroom gear have been boxed up. It's weird not having a bunch of cameras at the ready. It's not bad, just weird. Still unboxed are the Fuji X-Pro2 and X-100T for digital, and Leica M6 for film. That's it. No extra lenses, no lights, no other accessories. This may not be pure "minimalism" but it's as close as I've been in a while.
I wonder if this will inspire me to pare down my collection for good. I have to be honest, it's a relief not spending time deciding which camera(s) to grab. I like not worrying about which system I should keep.
We all know that won't happen. I like cameras as objects too much. I like trying different things. I use diversity as motivation to make photos, since I'm not one of those fortunate individuals who just can't help but create stuff all the time.
But for a few months, I'll be forced to do things differently. I'm going to miss the darkroom, though.
